Lac La Biche Crossroads Transfer Centre (LCTC)
A Joint Venture between KOI Water Group, Ltd, Red Wolf Corporation, and other Equity Partners. The KOI and Red Wolf partnership is an Indigenous Corporation with profits from the Partnership to be invested into the First Nations and Metis communities.
Project Description
The LCTC is designed to daily upgrade and transport up to 100,000 bpd of Heavy Oil upgraded to HFO, 20,000 bpd of Produced Water recycled and refined for reuse, over 15,840 tonnes of sand and solid by-products for sale and transport, and over 3,400 tonnes of oilsands for cleaning and by product sales and transport.
Highlights
- The KOI and Red Wolf Partnership is the LCTC Operator and principal.
- The LCTC is a 85-acre, high-volume oil processing facility and rail yard specially built to load and launch a Unit Train with 100,000 barrels of crude oil per day for processing and upgrading, water facilities for 20,000 bpd Produced Water refining, recycling and reuse, an Inland Container Depot, and solids processing and handling for up to 19,000 tonnes per day of oilsands, sand and solids for sale and transport.
- The LCTC Service Centre will provide large modern service bays and installation facilities. The LCTC Service Centre is a Red Wolf facility for Associate Members to install and maintain products.
- As local demand increases, the capability is expanded by adding additional track and switches and load/unload equipment.
- LCTC is projected for over 208 local administration and operations jobs and over 326 trucking and logistic jobs, for potentially 534 or more new jobs created in the Community by the end of year three.
